Particle Sizing with Vitarich Laboratories

An absolutely vital step in the making of any pill or chewable supplement, particle sizing ensures the quality and integrity of a product. In most supplements, there are multiple ingredients, and these raw materials are often of different sizes and shapes. Particle sizing is simply a process in which the particles of different materials are ground down to one size.

The reason for particle sizing is to create a congruent blend in the final product. If the ingredients do not undergo particle sizing, the final product will not be homogenous. If materials are blended without being sized, then when they are put into a bin prior to processing, the smaller particles will filter to the bottom, while the larger ones stay on top, creating a non-homogenous mixture. When this mixture is processed or encapsulated, the capsules will be filled with different percentages of each material, resulting in a product that is not what the label says it is and is potentially dangerous.

Particle sizing avoids this destruction of integrity by assuring that once the raw materials are mixed, they stay as a congruent blend and the mixture does not lose its uniformity.

Call or e-mail Vitarich Laboratories today to find out more about our particle sizing services and more.
